Director Biography - Robin De Vernon Ryding
Robin is a Scottish filmmaker specialized in directing, writing, cinematography and producing. In 2020 Robin Produced a short film, The Girl and The Red Dress (2021) In September 2020 he graduated from SAE institute with his BA Hons Degree in Film production and his production company, Fulfilment Pictures Ltd. Early 2021 Robin wrote, Directed, Producer, Edited and was the Cinematographer for 'Liberating Love' The film has won 5 awards including Best Mirco Short Film and Best Director award at the Port Blair International Film Festival
Robin has been working on his Tv series passion project 'Miss Walker' being the Showrunner as well as a writer, Director, Producer. In 2021 he has been developing and filming the 'Miss Walker Concept' to pitch to networks and hopefully commission the show to be created in Scotland.
In 2023 Robin will begin pre-production, directing and producing feature films such as 'Clean Cut' and 'Zofia'.
Director Statement
Imposter Syndrome was a challenge to make a film in only 48 hours for the Glasgow 48-hour film project 2022. We filmed for 13 hours out of the 48 and the full team were fantastic. Joe Henry at G81 Trust Studio in Clydebank so kindly let us use his studio to build the set and film everything in. As the 48-hour film project is a difficult one to plan ahead, we took the risk to build the set and plan rough ideas for characters beforehand. Ideally, I personally wanted us to get a Thriller or a Horror so when we found out we got Thriller I was over the moon.
The concept was an interesting take from the perspective of an actor about having self-doubt playing roles that have already been created and are portrayed in modern adaptation or sequels etc.
Considering this whole production was completed in a whole weekend I'm extremely proud of the whole team and they should be so proud of their amazing work too.
